Wiltshire Council is spending £60,000 on a new signal controlled pedestrian crossing on Trowbridge Road, Bradford, to help reduce the danger caused by car drivers to schoolchildren and other pedestrians.

The crossing is being installed near St Laurence Road following a request from Fitzmaurice Primary School.

The works will begin with a one-day road closure to vehicular traffic of Trowbridge Road on Saturday 15 August, when cars will be diverted along Moulton Drive and Frome Road.

Then, from 17 August, temporary traffic signals will be installed on Trowbridge Road and a section of St Laurence Road will be open to pedestrians and cyclists only from its junction with Trowbridge Road. The work is expected to last for four weeks.
