Covid-19 in Wiltshire - update.

May 27, 2020 9:09 PM

Wiltshire has had 552 confirmed cases of COVID-19. This is 104 cases per 100,000 people (compared to the average national rate of 268 per 100,000). There's likely to be an increase in confirmed cases as testing is rolled out across the whole population.

Up to week ending 8 May, there were 128 hospital deaths and 129 care home deaths due to COVID.

Wiltshire Council is required to have an Outbreak Control Plan in place by end of June.

Primary Schools have been instructed to open on 1 June for reception and years 1 & 6, with secondary schools opening 15 June for years 10 & 12.

Full government guidance on the reopening of schools was published on Sunday and Monday, giving schools limited time to put required measures in place. Some schools may not be ready to open on schedule.
