Wiltshire Liberal Democrats have elected Brian Dalton to be Deputy Group Leader of the Lib Dem Group on Wiltshire Council. Brian is Wiltshire Councillor for Salisbury Harnham division, and also sits on the City Council.

Lib Dem Group Leader Jon Hubbard said "I'm excited to be working with this Salisbury champion. Brian has successfully represented the City as mayor, and will now be joining the opposition leadership team in continuing to hold the Conservatives on Wiltshire Council to account."

"Cllr Dalton will ensure Wiltshire Lib Dems continue to work with the issues that affect Salisbury, and ensure that successes we've had already, including the council's car park charges U-turn, will continue. Brian's election ensures that the Lib Dems will be better able to scrutinise the Conservative Administration from the north to the south of the county."

Brian said "The Conservatives on Wiltshire Council are an administration in turmoil. They've U-turned on parking charges, they're trying to get rid of their own Chief Exec, they've been fined by the government for the climate change emissions, and no one knows what mistake they'll make next. There's never been a more important time to scrutinise their decisions and challenge their disastrous policies, and I'm pleased to be joining the Lib Dem leadership to continue this work.
