Better banking would help

The Better Banking campaign is trying to kill off the loan sharks who charge extortionate rates of interest to people - usually on low incomes anyway - who can't get easy credit elsewhere. If you are in that category please look at your local credit union which will probably be able to help.

Better banking is important to the whole of society, not just the poor, the unbanked or those in debt. The impact of bad banking on ordinary people is easily overlooked at a time when so much thought is being given to the macroeconomic crisis, but hopefully reform of the banking system will include consideration of the impact on ordinary people.
